hey y’all! september 15th to october 15th is latinx heritage month. if you were wondering why the month starts on the 15th, it’s because that is the anniversary of independence for five countries- costa rica, el salvador, guatemala, honduras and nicaragua.

i wanted to take some time to highlight afro-latinx authors and the experiences of afro-latinx folks across the americas. the intentional erasure of afro-latinx communities is an anti-Black, ahistorical, colonial, white supremacist project.
