hey y’all! this edition of reads addresses the critical concept that is intersectionality. this theoretical framework was created by the scholar and author kimberlé crenshaw. intersectionality helps us understand how our identities intersect and interact to produce different dynamics of marginalization and oppression. without the inclusion of intersectional frameworks in our movements, we will only reproduce systems of oppression by ignoring how power and privilege impact various marginal groups- particularly Black women and Black people of marginalized genders.
